Friends of Neochange,
We have been extremely busy at Neochange since our last newsletter. Most of our time has been focused on setting up Neochange for sustainable growth. Here's a few snippets to give you a sense of what we have been up to:
- Stephen Hamilton joined the team as our Managing Director of Business Development
- Established 3 new partnerships with market leading software vendors
- Launched an in-depth behavioral study of the key leadership roles within IT
- Established a referral program for Neochange affiliates
- Improved the execution capability of our adoption services and transformation management engagement model
As we move into the busy time of the year we expect to realize the benefits of these investments. Like most companies we are aware of the "economic headwinds" that have strengthened in the new year, thankfully for us change still happens, and since most software is significantly underutilized and not delivering cost savings, we expect to see an increase in the level of post deployment engagements we undertake.
In addition to the abovementioned activities we are proud to release our first survey on enterprise software success, co-sponsored by Sandhill.com. The results are definitely encouraging for us and have received widespread industry interest. The survey reminds us of the significant potential promise to be achieved through more effective usage - where most respondents believe that solving their adoption challenges will deliver competitive advantage.
Cheers,
Chris Dowse
CEO, Neochange

The Drivers of Enterprise Software Success According to Buyers and Sellers
Late last year we conducted a survey with Sandhill.com with the intention of capturing the views of software vendors and enterprise buyers on the definition, expectations and achievement of enterprise software success.
The survey uncovered some interesting perspectives. 70% of respondents agreed that the no. 1 driver of value realization is ensuring effective usage of software in the enterprise. The survey also found that improved adoption lowers costs, improves customer satisfaction and drives revenue growth. Software buyers expect vendors to help them improve usage levels and share the burden of success realization - as it stands, 2 out of 3 buyers are achieving less than 50% effective user adoption.
What Can Be Done to Improve the Chances of Success
Based on the survey findings, we have developed a list of best practices aimed at improving the success of today's enterprise software deployments:
- Buyers/Providers need to discuss their “success” expectations
- Define and measure success metrics
- Buyers should continuously monitor effective usage
- Providers should determine to what degree they enable effective usage
- Providers should develop and lead a partner eco-system that enables their customer’s success
